March, 2003 . Concentration in Computer Graphics and Visualization The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science ( EECS) at the University of California Irvine has created a new Concentration in Computer Graphics and Visualization (CGV). This concentration provides students with a solid base for the design, development and evaluation of scientific and information visualization systems. Both hardware and software aspects are addressed with a particular focus on the development of algorithms and techniques for the representation of complex scientific data.

May, 2003 . Report from the Homeland Security and Defense Seminar. " The Homeland Security and Defense Seminar was a great success thanks to all participants! It was an action packed day with over eighteen presentations, six different application demonstrations and slots for networking among the HDC members."

The Homeland Security and Defense Seminar The Homeland Security and Defense seminar, which is set for May 22 in California and hosted by VIS, Cal-(IT)2, HSSoE and EON Reality on the University of California Irvine campus, will be the premiere meeting for those who are interested to learn more about the Homeland Security and Defense Center (HDC) initiative and integrated systems solutions for Homeland Security.
April, 2003 . Performance of Civil Infrastructure Systems during Natural and Manmade Hazards Prof. Hutchinson is offering a unique new seminar for freshman at UCI.
